CASA DEL BALSAMO is located in the most famous alley of the old town of Rethymnon, in Makri Steno. It is a Venetian two-story building, completely renovated and in harmony with the architecture and philosophy of the area, which has three independent and fully functional suites, with neat and tasteful decoration, each of which can accommodate two to four people. Live a dream vacation staying in the heart of the most atmospheric and romantic city of Crete, just 800 m from the famous beach of Rethymno.

On the ground floor of CASA DEL BALSAMO the visitor can find the lobby of the building and a shared W.C, as well as the Dafni suite. The Dafni suite, 30 m², has two single beds measuring 1.40X2, smart TV 43″, kitchenette with fridge-mini bar, espresso machine, kettle, coffee maker and cooking plate, bathroom with shower and bathrobes for guests, air conditioning and an open wardrobe type.
It comfortably accommodates up to 2 people and an extra bed can be added upon request.
Our guests, upon consultation and for an extra charge, can choose the breakfast of their choice and enjoy it either in their room or in the specially designed area on the roof of the building.
On the first floor you will find the Rosemary suite measuring 55 m² and able to accommodate up to three people. It has a double bed 1.60 X 2, a sofa that becomes a bed, a bathroom with a shower and a hammam for endless hours of relaxation and well-being. The suite also has a balcony equipped with a coffee table and chairs, a 32-inch Smart TV, air conditioning, a kitchen table with chairs and a kitchenette with an espresso machine, a coffee machine, a grill, a fridge-minibar and a kettle.
On the second floor of CASA DEL BALSAMO is the Erontas suite. Its dimensions are 55 m² and it can comfortably accommodate up to three people. It has a double bed measuring 1.60 x 2 and a comfortable sofa that becomes a bed. The balcony of the suite has a panoramic view of the old town to relax while enjoying your drink or coffee. The suite has a kitchenette with fridge-minibar, cooking plate, espresso machine, coffee maker, kettle, table with chairs, air conditioning wardrobe, 43 inch smart TV and bathroom with shower. Bathrobes are also available to guests.
The roof of CASA DEL BALSAMO will take your breath away with its panoramic view of all the points of interest of the old town such as the Venetian fortress Fortezza, the Minaret, the Venetian buildings and the sea. Here you can enjoy your breakfast, to order, but also relax at any time of the day in the company of the sounds, colors and aromas of this magical city. All areas of CASA DEL BALSAMO have free wifi and air conditioning and all windows and balcony doors have screens to prevent insects.

Landmarks of Rethymno: Fortezza fortress, built for war dedicated to culture. It is a fortress complex with restored buildings such as the house of the Venetian commander, the mosque of Sultan Ibrahim Hassan which hosts musical events, the episcopal palace, the mosque of Ibrahim Hassan, the old gunpowder stores, the palace that was the residence of the councilors and the bastions are just a few of the attractions that await you in Fortezza, which was built in the 16th century. Many of the restored buildings host exhibitions and important cultural events, such as the annual Renaissance Festival.
Don’t miss to visit the Nerandze Mosque, with its theorized minaret of 1890, a meeting point for Rethymnoites, the Catholic Church of Agios Francis, Titos Petichakis Square (Platanos), with its bustling restaurants and cafes, the famous Rimondi fountain, made in 1626, the famous Makry Steno, one of the most beautiful alleys of the old town of Rethymno full of Venetian houses and stone fountains that leads from the municipal garden to Fortezza. The Venetian harbor, with the restored lighthouse, built between 1830-40, will impress you with its beauty.
